The Other Side
photograph/ 2011
When I was a child, I used to imagine there was another dimension in a puddle. A puddle for me is a fantasy, a horror and a documentary, an item which expands my imagination.
Its trembling surface like an entrance inducing me in to another world, which is unlike reflection of materials such as mirror and glass where there reflection remains the same. This fragility emphasizes a puddle as something of a different existence.
I am not sure if every reflection in a puddle mirrors real views, people or buildings. There may be another world which I have not noticed in a puddle, and it may be an entrance which sometimes appears in front of people. There is no way to find this out, so I am only left to imagine this by creating work about a deviated version of this world.
